A Midsummer Invitation: The Summer Plant Sauna Ritual

Hand picked roses

As July unfolds and the plants reach their fullest bloom, I’m opening the doors to a ritual woven from the softness of summer. On the 11th of July, I’ll be gathering a small group at Motts Sauna for a day shaped by steam, scent and the quiet medicine of seasonal plants. A space to cool the body, settle the mind and reconnect with the natural world in its brightest moment.

Our guides for the day will be mint and rose, two plants that know exactly how to soothe summer’s heat. Mint brings bright, refreshing clarity, the kind that lifts heaviness from tired limbs and busy thoughts. Rose offers hydration, emotional ease and that gentle heart‑opening quality that only midsummer seems to awaken. Together, they create a ritual that feels like stepping into a long, cooling exhale.

We’ll begin in the yurt, a warm and atmospheric space that holds ceremony beautifully. Here, we’ll share a tea ritual. Meeting an unknown tea with curiosity, tasting it slowly, letting your senses guide you before the plant reveals itself. We’ll explore its story, medicine and how to weave its qualities into your everyday life. You’ll take home resources so you can recreate this moment whenever you need grounding.

From there, we’ll craft a cooling summer remedy using seasonal herbs. Simple, beautiful, and perfect for hot days or overheated skin. Then we’ll move into the sauna, where mint, rose and other summer allies will infuse the steam. Aromatic waters, cooling mists and plant‑based remedies will work in the heat, helping your body release tension and soften into rest. This part of the day is deeply restorative. Part workshop, part ceremony and part remembering.

After the sauna, you'll be offered a nourishing summer cream for your skin. A hydrating and soothing reminder of the day. We’ll finish with a delicious seasonal lunch, giving you time to integrate, rest and reconnect with yourself and the group.

And if the weather decides not to behave like summer, we’ll have full use of the beautiful yurt. A cocoon of warmth, wood and woven light, perfect for holding the ritual in any weather.

If your body is craving rest… If your heart wants softness… If you long to reconnect with the plants of summer and with yourself… This day is for you.

Spaces are limited. This is one of the most nourishing offerings of the year. I would love to welcome you into this midsummer ritual. Go to motts-sauna.com or email me to book your space.
